Farewell to Denver
After a wonderful stay in Denver we move on to our bus trip to National Parks and Gorges in South Dakota, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada and Arizona. We had the most wonderful time and fallen in love with Colorado and the mountains.
We are both showing signs of lots of good eating!

Riding Lookout Mountain
Morning walk reveals snow capped range, after only 1 degree Celsius night down here.
Was a cold start to the ride!
The steepest switchback:
Two thirds of the way up:
At the top, Marianne's first triumph over the mountain!
1833 ft of elevation gained in the 29 km loop. Ready for the 15 mile fast descent!

A walk in the mist...
We woke to mist and fog and decided to do a hike to Devils's head which is 2.8 mile rountrip with 950 ft elevation gain.
The aspen forest:
There are 143 steps to the fire lookout tower at the end of the hike up.
The view from the top which some of us saw!

A weekend away in the high country...
Fishing is everywhere:
A bike shop that had the balls for the job!
An engineering marvel, riding Glenwood Canyon:
Hanging Lake walk:
Hanging Lake a picture perfect, a wonderful scene if you see it!
Lookout Mountain Road:
Maroon Bells:
We were lucky to get a dusting of snow.
The dusting increased on the way home!
Looked like fairyland
Peter couldn't resist throwing snowballs.
